About Me
Born and raised in Japan, surrounded by a bounty of anime and manga, I remained loyal to South Asia with my penchant for classical dancing and Bollywood films. My passion for cinema evolved into an academic endeavor, leading me to obtain a BA in Screen Arts & Cultures at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and later, an MA in Media Studies at The New School in New York City. I began my career in digital marketing before a move to Singapore, where I pivoted to freelance writing in film, culture, travel, and health. My writing has appeared on platforms such as Indiewire, RogerEbert.com, NBC Asian America, Oyster.com, and Greatist, and in 2015, I was selected as one of four recipients of the very first Sundance | Ebert Fellowship for Film Criticism. After relocating to the New York area, I spent five years as a lead creative writing strategist at Netflix, steering the creation of editorial assets for the North American and Indian content slates. Guided by authenticity, curiosity, and a global mindset, I thrive when I can leverage my multicultural background and editorial expertise towards projects and partnerships. I can't wait to work with you!
